About This Performance
Beginning with Stockhausen's 1956 tape masterpiece that mixes a boy's voice with electronically generated tones, this evening is a real adventure for those who want to stretch their ears further than they thought possible. Romitelli, Furrer, and Pintscher continue the tradition that is the European avant-garde with mesmerizingly far-out soundscapes.
Come for: Mind-expanding contemporary music not often heard in Los Angeles, led by German composer/conductor Matthias Pintscher, Music Director of the preeminent Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris.
And more: The U.S. premiere of Swiss composer Beat Furrer's "study of distorted shadows" for an octet that includes electric guitar and percussion.
