About This Performance
In Japanese, “Kodo” has two meanings. The first is “heartbeat,” the primal source of all rhythm; the second is “children of the drum,” reflecting the group’s desire to play the drums simply, with the heart of a child. For over 30 years they have explored the limitless possibilities of the traditional Japanese taiko drum.
A beating of the minds – but in a good way. Rhythms elemental, rhythms subtle.
Kodo performances usually include lighter moments of traditional Japanese songs and dances.
