Dive deep into Minimalism! For a second time, the LA Phil is the only major orchestra to take stock of this radical new approach to composing, performing, and listening to music. If you only go to one MJ concert, this is the one to hear. Three Steve Reich pieces (1982, 1988, 2012), two world premieres (Missy Mazzoli, Mark Grey), and much more add up to hours and hours of music from across a wide Minimalist spectrum, enabling a completely immersive experience. Come and go as you please for this one-of-a-kind marathon.

Come for:

A unique musical experience that you’ll talk about for years to come.

And more:

In order to create the text for his own indie rock song cycle, Pulitzer Prize-winning David Lang combed through Schubert lyrics for moments where personified death sends a message to the living. Death also haunts Steve Reich’s Grammy-winning Different Trains, which includes the taped voices of Holocaust survivors.

There will also be music in the lobby spaces throughout the evening.

Programs, artists, dates, prices and availability subject to change.
