Beethoven’s Fifth
At the LA Phil, we believe in the power of music to spark imaginations and shape young lives. Our Symphonies for Youth concerts invite children and their families to soak up the sounds of a world-class orchestra while experiencing the thrill of live performance.
Four notes. Short, short, short, long. Beethoven called them fate knocking at the door and said he didn’t choose them: they chose him. This program features his Fifth Symphony, paired with a live interview with "Beethoven" himself. Hear how a composer going deaf built an entire symphony in his head, broke the rules of what a composer was allowed to be, and turned fate into joy.

- Recommended for children ages 5 to 11 (children under 2 not admitted)

Get to the Hall via the A or E Line to Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station, or take the B or D Line to Civic Center/Grand Park Station. The Metro J Line busway also stops nearby at Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill.
Rideshare
All rideshare, access, and drop-off vehicles are welcome to unload passengers on Grand Avenue in front of the concert hall.
Parking
Parking is available directly beneath Walt Disney Concert Hall. Enter on 2nd Street or Lower Grand Avenue.
