The California Department of Public Health issued a mandate that all public gatherings, including concerts and presentations at Walt Disney Concert Hall, should be canceled through March 31, 2020 to protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19.

This event has been canceled. Anyone who has already purchased tickets to these concerts can:

A Noise Within and the LA Phil join forces to present a staged reading of five of Luis Valdez’s politically potent Actos: “Los Dos Caras del Patroncito,” “Los Vendidos,” “No Saco Nada de la Escuela," "La Conquista de México," and "Huelgustas." A friend of César Chávez and Dolores Huerta, Valdez founded El Teatro Campesino (The Farmworkers’ Theater) in 1965 on the Delano Grape Strike picket lines. The company performed “actos,” commedia dell'arte-style sketches, that reflected the lives and political concerns of the people performing them. Taking the “actos” on tour to dramatize the plight and cause of the farmworkers, El Teatro Campesino was honored in 1969 with an Obie Award for “demonstrating the politics of survival.”

Power to the People is presented in collaboration with the California African American Museum. Additional partners include American Cinematheque, A Noise Within, and Power California.
