About this Performance
Cameron Carpenter, a celebrated gamechanger in the organ world, performs an extraordinary program where “everything he touches turns fantastical and memorable” (The New York Times). Join him as he pairs two poetic and hypnotic chorales by Belgian organist César Franck with two of J.S. Bach’s mighty and, at times, melancholy Prelude-and-Fugue masterpieces.
Carpenter ends the night by taking “Hurricane Mama”—Walt Disney Concert Hall’s beloved 6,134-pipe organ—for a joyride through Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, performing his original arrangement that he’s perfected over the last 20 years.
