UNSTILL LIFE
On screen, Benjamin Millepied’s choreography intensified the drama of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan with hypnotic ballet routines, and in Dune, brought a sharp sense of focus and rhythmic strategy to the infamous “sandwalk.” For the stage, he’s choreographed a number works for major dance companies across the globe. And now, he makes his first official U.S. performance since his 13-year hiatus from dance.
Millepied teams up with “the unfailingly stylish” (The Guardian) pianist Alexandre Tharaud for UNSTILL LIFE to create “a swirling, space-intensive gesture that exudes a discreet sensuality (Télérama), featuring live, on-screen dance footage and music by Bach, Rameau, Beethoven, Satie, and Schubert.
