CHARLES DURNING (L.A. Captain) has a starring role in Broadway's Inherit the Wind (with George C. Scott). A two-time Academy Award nominee for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and To Be Or Not To Be, Durning has been in other films such as O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Grass Harp, Spy Hard, Home for the Holidays, I.Q., The Hudsucker Proxy, Dick Tracy, When a Stranger Calls, Tootsie, True Confessions, Sharkey's Machine, The Muppet Movie, and Dog Day Afternoon. Durning won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and among his other theatrical credits are the Broadway productions of That Championship Season, Knock, Knock, The Au Pair Man, and In the Boom Boom Room. His numerous television credits include the mini-series Woman of Independent Means, Death of a Salesman, The Kennedy's of Massachusetts, Best Little Girl in the world, a starring role in the popular series Evening Shade, and his two one-man shows for PBS, Casey Stengel and Pope John XXIII, to name a few.
