Anna Alkhimova

Soprano ANNA ALKHIMOVA was born in Eastern Russia. Her musical training, both piano and singing, started when she was just four, under the supervision of her mother, a singing instructor and choir conductor. After graduating from the Rimsky-Korsakov Musical Theater College as an actress of operetta, Alkhimova entered the famous Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg to study voice under Professor Novichenko, who was also coaching Anna Netrebko. While at the Conservatory she performed the roles of Marfa in The Tsar's Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov, Iolanta in Iolanta by Tchaikovsky, Theodora in Princess of the Circus, the Young Gypsy Girl in Countess Mariza, and Odetta in Bayadera (all three by Kálmán), and Adele in Die Fledermaus by Strauss. Anna is currently studying voice with Cesar Ulloa. She made her LA Opera debut this season singing the role of Annina in La Traviata, in the production starring Renée Fleming and Rolando Villazón.
