Growing up in Los Angeles, Alan Kaplan began playing trombone at the age of eight. By the age of 19 he was on the road playing music with Buddy Rich. He was the youngest trombonist ever to play lead with that band. Alan now enjoys his position as one of the top studio trombone players in Los Angeles. Alan Kaplan has recorded with artists from Marvin Gaye to Oingo Boingo to Whitney Houston to the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and countless more. Alan has played on more than 600 cartoons such as Tiny Toons, Tazmania, and 101 Dalmatians, and on 500- plus films including Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa, Sleepless in Seattle, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Apollo 13, The Lion King, and Batman and Robin, to name just a few.
