About this Artist
Bass VADIM KRAVETS (Priest; Nikitch) was a first-prize winner at both the International Lisitsian Competition (2003) and the Sixth International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers' Competition in St. Petersburg, and has also been a prizewinner at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition of St. Petersburg (2005). A graduate of the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, he has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2000 and a Mariinsky Theater soloist since 2007. Additionally, he has taken part in the Amsterdam Music Festival (Concertgebouw) and has performed the role of Rene in Iolanta at the Moscow Academic Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater.
Kravets' repertoire includes Ruslan (Ruslan and Lyudmila), Prince Galitsky (Prince Igor), Maslenitsa, Bermyata, and Father Frost (The Snow Maiden), Duda (Sadko), Bediay (The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia), General Polkan (The Golden Cockerel), Bertrand (Iolanta in concert), Aleko (Aleko in concert), Lord Sidney (Il viaggio a Reims), Oroveso (Norma in concert), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Pasquale (Don Pasquale), Samuel (Un ballo in maschera), Monk (Don Carlo), the Imperial Commissioner (Madama Butterfly), Escamillo (Carmen), Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Fasolt (Das Rheingold), and the bass part in Mahler's Eighth Symphony.
