With the release of the behemoth AVATAR, JOEL DAVID MOORE made his unique look one of the most recognizable in entertainment.
After years of a successful run in the commercial world, Moore began his feature career starring opposite Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller in the sleeper hit Dodgeball. Capitalizing on his early success, Joel starred in a string of films, including the Fox picture Grandmas Boy, U/A’s Art School Confidential, Anchor Bay’s Hatchet, and Beyond A Reasonable Doubt with Michael Douglas. Moore is looking forward to the release of a series of films, including Unified Pictures Janie Jones, starring Abigail Breslin, and the biopic Grassroots opposite Jason Biggs and Lauren Ambrose, Relativity’s 3D adventure thriller Shark Night 3D, due out September 3rd. He recently finished production on Gone, starring Amanda Seifried, the Off-Broadway hit turned film Jewtopia, with an incredible cast of characters including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jon Lovitz, Rita Wilson, Tom Arnold Jamie Lynn Sigler, Camryn Manheim and others, which he also Executive Produced, and finished up the year working with the acclaimed Oliver Stone on his new film Savages.
Joel’s comprehensive background soon drove him to explore other aspects of the film industry, and in 2005 he made his directorial debut co-writing, co-directing, and starring in the independent psychological-thriller Spiral which won the Santa Barbara Film Fest, and was released theatrically in early 2008 by Anchor Bay. His then released is the comedic fantasy Byron Phillips: Found, starring Zachary Levi, which Joel wrote and directed, and was an ‘Exclusive Selection’ on FUNNY OR DIE. His newest short Hours Before, which he wrote and directed, is touring the world on the festival circuit, accepting numerous accolades along the way. He is currently working on the smart, quirky dark comedy Killing Winston Jones, a feature he will direct and produce.
Along side his contagiously fun role as FISHER on Fox’s TV syndicated hit Bones, he will next be continuing the fabulous journey as Norm Spellman as James Cameron heads back to Pandora for AVATAR 2 & 3.
Passionate about the importance of volunteering, Moore gives his time to numerous charities, and organizations around the Los Angeles area, including a wide support for the troops overseas that includes USO tours and military visits.
