Soprano TATIANA PAVLOVSKAYA was born in Murmansk in 1969. She graduated in 1994 from the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory and has won numerous prizes, such as the International Pechkovsky Competition of Young Opera Singers, and the Competition for Young Opera Singers in Vroclav, Poland, in 1994.

In 1995 Pavlovskaya made her debut at the Mariinsky Theater as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin. She tours extensively with the Mariinsky Opera in France, Italy, Finland, Turkey, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, and the United States. In 1998 she made her debut in the United States at Carnegie Hall and at the Metropolitan Opera in the role of Maria in Mazeppa by Tchaikovsky, and at the San Francisco Opera, where she sang Clara in Betrothal in a Monastery.

Pavlovskaya's past engagements have included her debut at the Salzburg Festival in a concert performance of Parsifal conducted by Valery Gergiev, Clara in Betrothal in a Monastery at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Pauline in The Gambler and Elsa in Lohengrin at the Baden Baden Festival, Maria in Mazeppa at the Ravenna Festival, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Mariinsky Theater in a new production by Johannes Schaaf, a gala concert with Plácido Domingo and the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev at Buckingham Palace, Emma in Khovanshchina at the Paris Opera, her debut with the Baltimore Symphony in concerts of Iolanta conducted by Yuri Temirkanov, Desdemona in Otello, the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, and most recently Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with the Washington Opera, concerts of Britten's War Requiem at the Teatro Regio di Torino and the Mariinsky Theater, Sophia in Semyon Kotko at the Philharmonie in Vienna, Maria in Mazeppa at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Natasha in War and Peace at the Teatro Real Madrid and Teatro alla Scala, the title role in concerts of Iolanta at Teatro all Scala, Tatiana in a new production of Eugene Onegin at the Théâtre du Châtelet, and Tatiana and Maria in Mazeppa with the Mariinsky Theater at the Metropolitan Opera.

Future engagements include concerts of The Bells and Dvor?ák's Stabat mater with the Cincinnati Symphony, Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito at the Washington Opera, and her debut singing Oksana in Cherevichki at Teatro alla Scala. Tatiana Pavlovskaya continues to appear as a principal artist with the Mariinsky Theater.
