About this Artist
AVERY ROBERTS, a 12-year-old native of Pasadena, California, has performed on some of the greatest stages in Southern California, with a passion for vocal music that shines brightly every time he sings. Under the tutelage of Anne Tomlinson at the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC), Avery has performed Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Bizet’s Carmen with Los Angeles Opera, and in Glass’ Einstein on the Beach with Jacaranda. He recently recorded Nico Muhly’s A Good Understanding (Decca) with LACC and the Los Angeles Master Chorale, under the direction of Grant Gershon. A winner of the Pasadena Musical Theatre Program's Promise Competition and a student at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, where he studies piano, Avery hopes to become a conductor and encourage others to enjoy choral music. He is grateful for his musical mentors, as well as his extended family of musicians and music-lovers.
