About this Artist

Pianist and composer RENEE ROSNES

hails from Vancouver, Canada, and quickly

established a reputation as a major talent

after arriving in New York. Aside from

leading her own quartet, she has been

a member of the SFJAZZ Collective, as

well as the bands of jazz legends Wayne

Shorter, James Moody, Bobby Hutcherson,

JJ Johnson, and, more recently, bassist Ron

Carter. Her 15th recording as a leader,

Written in the Rocks (Smoke Sessions),

named one of the Top Ten Jazz Albums

of the Year by The Chicago Tribune and

one of the Best Albums in all genres of

music by The Nation, was the recipient

of the 2017 Juno Award for Jazz Album of

the Year.
