About this Artist
ASHLEE SIMPSON is an artist in the truest sense of the word. The singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and mom has gone from pop star to pop culture staple in less than a decade.
In 2004, the world met Simpson on her major label debut album, Autobiography. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually went triple-platinum, solidifying her as a major force in pop music. Accolades began piling up. Billboard crowned her "New Female Artist of the Year" and Entertainment Weekly dubbed her a "Breakout Star".
2005's I Am Me replicated that success, also topping the charts and eventually reaching multiplatinum status. That same year, fans petitioned Cosmopolitan for Simpson to grace its cover and she received the coveted title of "Fun Fearless Female of the Year".
Ashlee unveiled her third album, Bittersweet World, in 2008 to fan and critical acclaim. Supporting her hugely successful album releases, Ashlee became a live sensation, touring the world to packed venues and engaging audiences everywhere. Already a household name, fans came to love her in the highly rated MTV reality series, The Ashlee Simpson Show.
Excited to take performing on stage to the next level, 2006 saw Ashlee make her professional stage debut as Roxie Hart in a West End production of the legendary musical Chicago. She received unanimous critical acclaim for her portrayal. Broadway came calling in 2010, and she reprised the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago for her Broadway debut.
On the small screen, Ashlee became a series regular on the CW's reboot of Melrose Place in 2009. Other TV appearances throughout the years included memorable spots on CSI: NY and America's Next Top Model.
In 2013, Ashlee teamed up with her older sister Jessica to launch a brand new tween clothing line as part of the prominent Jessica Simpson Collection. As co-creative director, Ashlee is managing much of the creative on the brand, driving the endeavor to the top of the tween market.
In addition, Ashlee’s anxiously awaited fourth album is on the horizon, spearheaded by the viral release of the sultry and sexy "Bat For a Heart" music video. She's also appearing in 2013's dark comedy The Pawn Shop Chronicles.
