Born: 1968, Caen, France

ERIC TANGUY graduated in 1991 from the Conservatoire National in Paris, where his teachers included Gérard Grisey and Betsy Jolas. His works list includes more than 100 compositions across most art genres and mediums, and he has won numerous honors and residencies throughout Europe and the U.S., including Composer of the Year twice at the Victoires de la musique classique. He teaches composition at the Conservatoire Paul Dukas in Paris, and in recent seasons has had a strong presence in Los Angeles, with pieces performed at the Jacaranda and Piano Spheres series and lecturing at UCLA, USC, and the Colburn School.
