About this Artist
LISA THELEN, soprano, was born and raised in Los Angeles. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Loyola Marymount University, a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Arts from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Doctor of Music degree in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California. She is a past winner of the Burbank Philharmonic Hennings-Fischer Young Artists’ Competition and was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Western Regional Auditions. She has been a soloist in such works as Bach’s Magnificat, Fauré’s Requiem, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Exsultate, jubilate and Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria and numerous performances of Handel’s Messiah. She is honored to be performing once again with David Higgs as part of tonight’s Holiday Organ Spectacular. Ms. Thelen is the Music Director for St. Bede the Venerable School in La Cañada and lives in La Crescenta with her husband Michael and three children.
