Pianist DMITRI YEFIMOV was born in 1965 in Leningrad and began his musical education at the age of five. He graduated from the Conservatory of St. Petersburg in 1990, after studying with Professor Egrov, and completed his post-graduate course in 1992. The Russian pianist was awarded the diploma for “Best Accompanist” at the All-Union Vocal Competition in Alma-Ata in 1991, and received a diploma at the Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Parma, Italy, in 1992.
Yefimov has given concerts as both soloist and accompanist in Russia, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Since 1992, he has been on the piano faculty of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In 1994, Yefimov recorded two CDs of Beethoven Piano Sonatas for the “Audiophile Classics” series.
