Alaysha Fox

Soprano Alaysha Fox is an emerging artist from New York City. This season, Ms. Fox will be seen as Queen Eleanor in the world premiere of Julia Adolphe’s A Barrel of Laughs, a Vale of Tears at National Sawdust. Some previous credits include Camelot with the Lincoln Center Theater and Kathleen Battle’s Underground Railroad recital. She was a featured artist at the annual Verdi Square Festival and in Lee Mingwei’s exhibit Sonic Blossom with MetLiveArts. Her roles include the First Lady in The Magic Flute, Dee Legendary in Joseph N. Rubinstein's Legendary, Lady Macbeth in Bloch's Macbeth, the Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, the title role of Penelope and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.

Ms. Fox has been honored with several awards. She was a grand finalist in the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the first place winner of the 2015 Joan Taub Ades Vocal competition, and she won the Lotte Lenya emerging artist award.

An alumna of the Chautauqua Opera and Opera Saratoga young artist programs, she holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
