Luis Cardenas Casillas

Luis Cardenas Casillas is a multi-genre trumpeter from Los Angeles. He has played behind such greats as hip-hop duo Camp Lo, Mexican Norteño giants Los Tigres del Norte, jazz singer Barbara Morrison, and many more, in addition to playing on television and streaming services. He was an associate member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra for the 2019/20 season. 

As an educator, Luis has worked with students of all ages and skill levels across the country. Currently he works with Chino Hills High School, Arcadia High School, and YOLA, in addition to a busy schedule as a guest clinician with middle school, high school and college programs from Georgia to California. 

Luis earned a Master of Music degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas. He did a year of graduate study at the Chicago Conservatory of the Performing Arts. His primary teachers include John Holt, Channing Philbrick, and Jens Lindemann.
