About this Artist
Ezak Amaviska Perez was born and raised in and around Tongva land (Los Angeles, CA) and is currently residing on Lenape territory (NY). They come from Hopi and Paeaekila Puebloan people. He is Native, Xicanx & Latinx. They are two-spirit of center, indigiqueer, and trans. Ezak has been facilitating and organizing locally in L.A. as well as nationally for the past 15+ years. They worked at the intersections of racial, economic, and gender justice. Ezak is the Executive Director of Gender Justice LA, a grassroots social justice organization led by and for gender non-conforming, two-spirit, trans, Black, and Indigenous people of color. GJLA organizes, holds space, provides resources, and collaborates with others so that our communities can resist oppression, develop community responses to violence, heal from present and historical trauma, and come together in ways that feel brave and affirming. Ezak is a strategist, thought partner, co-conspirator, and a believer that we will absolutely win!
