Rey Fukuda

About this Artist

Rey Fukuda (he/him, they/them) is a Japanese Paraguayan singer-songwriter. They grew up internationally in places like Japan, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. They found music to find safety as a bi-racial transgender queer young person. Rey is self-taught in guitar and is inspired by many artists like Frank Ocean, Nina Simone, Incubus, and Bill Withers. He writes songs about long distance and chosen family, love, immigration, prisons, and freedom. He also starred as Mani on the STARZ TV show Vida in seasons 1 and 2.
