About this Artist
The Killjoy String Quartet is a dynamic, experimental ensemble comprised of Los Angeles-based colleagues and friends. Equally comfortable on the stages of Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center to the main stage at Coachella, their talents resound through the musical worlds of film scoring, jazz, classical, alternative and beyond. Killjoy members have penned and recorded string arrangements for the likes of Vampire Weekend, Justin Timberlake, the Rolling Stones and Beyoncé, and have performed across the globe with groups and artists including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Martha Argerich and Nigel Kennedy. In addition to being heavily involved in the Los Angeles film scoring world, each member is devoted to new music and has premiered, recorded and collaborated with emerging and established living composers including Andrew Norman, John Corigliano, David Lang and Joan Tower.
