Diego Carrasco

Diego Carrasco, a legendary flamenco performer, unique in his rhythm and form of expressing a song.  He is a singer, composer, and guitarist from Jerez de la Frontera. His songs have been sung by Camarón de la Isla and Remedios Amaya with whom he had the hit song “Nana de Colores"

Diego comes from flamenco dynasties Tío Borrico, Terremoto de Jerez, Los Peña de Lebrija and Tío Jero.

As a guitarist he has accompanied singers such as Ana la Piriñaca, Tío Gregorio Borrico, Terremoto de Jerez, Manolo Soler and Sernita de Jerez; and dancers such as Alejandro Vega and Antonio Gades.  He has also collaborated with Guadalquivir, Manolo Sanlúcar, Camarón de la Isla, Enrique Morente, Mario Maya, Lebrijano and Pata Negra.

Diego has a vast discography with nearly twenty recorded CD’s. In 2011, he recorded for the TVE series "FLAMENCO PARA TUS OJOS" the program "Hippytano", which includes original repertoire.  He also took part in the film “Flamenco” directed by Carlos Saura.

In 2017 he received a tribute in recognition for his 50 years as a flamenco artist and for his contributions to flamenco.

Diego Carrasco continues revitalizing his career performing in numerous stages, festivals and projects around the world.
