About this Artist

Alexis is a seventeen-year-old composer, flutist, pianist, and vocalist. She is a senior at her high school and studies flute with Jim Walker and Catherine Karoly. Alexis has held positions in Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra, Colburn Youth Orchestra, and the Ed and Mari Edelman Chamber Institute. Alexis first started composing in middle school when her chamber composition Theme and Variations was performed by the University of La Verne’s Chamber Ensemble. After experiencing the joy of listening to her music come to life, Alexis continues to write for her high school’s choir and instrumental ensembles. Driven by her passion for classical music, Alexis seeks to explore the interactions and balancing of harmony in her compositions.
