Kinga Głowacka

Polish conductor and violist Kinga Głowacka is winner of the CySO International Conducting Master Class & Competition in Nicosia, Cyprus (2024), Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition 2023, and first International Workshop and Competition for Orchestral Conducting in Szeged, Hungary (2022). She also received a choir award for the best conductor in the second National Choir Forum “Wrocław, City of Music,” in 2022. In 2023, she completed her conducting studies at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow with conductor Łukasz Borowicz. 

In November 2023 Kinga worked on Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring as an assistant conductor with Marin Alsop and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland in Dublin. As a member of the Conducting Student Scientific Club in the Penderecki Academy of Music, she prepared and performed many contemporary music pieces written by young composers based in Krakow. She took part in international conducting master classes with Johannes Schlaefli, Baldur Brönnimann, Marin Alsop, Martyn Brabbins, Mark Heron, Christian Ehwald, Rüdiger Bohn, Michalis Economou, Patrick Fournillier, Giuseppe Montesano, Rafał Jacek Delekta, and Paweł Przytocki. 

In 2018 Kinga founded the Krakow-based chamber orchestra Arco Andare, which she has been directing up to now. In 2024/25 Kinga makes her opera debut conducting the Krakow Chamber Opera’s production of Il geloso schernito. She also returns to Cyprus and Romania to conduct concerts with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and Filarmonica Pitești, respectively.

Kinga is fascinated by acting, theater, and film. From a young age she was a member of different amateur theaters. Kinga used her experience as an actress for her thesis, which was about Stanislavski's acting method for conductors.
