About this Piece

The slowly unfolding La Nativité by Jean Langlais (1907-1991) is from his Poèmes Évangéliques, Op. 2, published in 1936. Its Christmas theme depicts the characters in the manger scene, with a tonal language that occasionally wanders freely outside the rules.
