Colin Ramsey
Young American bass COLIN RAMSEY has performed with companies including Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Austin Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, and Opera San Jose. He is now a regular interpreter of many of the roles in the Italian, French, and Mozartian repertoire such as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Le Comte des Grieux in Manon, The Speaker in Die Zauberflöte, and many performances of Colline in La Bohème, which has become a signature role. He most recently had the privilege of covering Edward Teller in the Peter Sellars production of John Adams’ Dr. Atomic at the Santa Fe Opera. This season he will sing Marullo in Rigoletto at San Diego Opera and Reverend Hale in The Crucible at Opera Santa Barbara.
