DaEun Jung

DAEUN JUNG is a choreographer and dancer originally from South Korea. Her works have been presented at various performance venues, including Electric Lodge, Highways, and REDCAT in Los Angeles. As a dancer, she performed around the world for GPDC, a dance company renowned for its traditional and contemporary Korean dance repertoires, and has collaborated with choreographers such as Milka Djordjevich, Ros Warby, Wilfried Souly, Jeanine Durning, Shahar Biniamini, and Melinda Ring. Upon completing her MFA in dance at UCLA, where she received the Westfield Emerging Artist Award, DaEun currently works as an artist-in-residence of Dance Resource Center at KYCC and of Show Box L.A. at We Live in Space and as a guest choreographer at Santa Monica College. For the past two years, she has been working on a project that deconstructs classical Korean dance vocabulary by adopting Cunningham and Cage’s chance procedure in her movement composing system. daeunjung.com
