Gilbert Glenn Brown earned a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His theater credits include: The Mountaintop (Garry Marshall Theatre), Dot (Billie Holiday Theatre, True Colors Theatre), LATW’s national tour of The Mountaintop, When Jazz Had the Blues (CEK Productions/The Matrix Theatre), Harriet Jacobs (Kansas City Rep), Civil War Christmas (Huntington Theatre), TopDog/UnderDog (Seattle Rep/Center Theatre Group), Spunk (True Colors Theatre Company), The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek (Fountain Theatre), Serial. Black. Face. (Actor’s Express), Gospel at Colonus (Ebony Repertory Theatre Company), Martin: Before the Dream (NEC), and Charleston Olio (Goodman Theatre & National Black Theatre Festival). His television credits include: recurring roles on Young & the Restless as Jett Slade, The Inspectors, Good Behavior, Mercy,the new DC Universe show Stargirl, The Passage, The Resident, Dynasty, Queen Sugar, Stranger Things, Mr. Mercedes, Valor, Survivor’s Remorse, ER, The O.C., Cold Case, Shark, CSI: Miami, andThe Shield. His film credits include: the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic Respect as MLK Jr., Best of Enemies, Down for Whatever, Dreamgirls, Drumline 2 and Raising the Heights, to name a few. Gilbert’s numerous awards and nominations include appearing in the Emmy winning Proctor & Gamble’s The Talk, NAACP Theatre Award, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Audelco Award. He has appeared in and voiced several commercials for a variety of clients, most recently the NFL’s Football Town, and Dodge RAM.
