Holly Sedillos

Soprano Holly Sedillos is a Los Angeles Native who has been praised for her versatility and her “seductive, siren-like charm.” She splits her time between the studio and the stage.
This is Holly’s 4th season appearing with the LA Phil as a soloist. In 2019, she sang the top soprano line in John Adams’s Grand Pianola Music, conducted by the composer. She reprised the work in 2020 with Gustavo Dudamel for LAPO’s Soundstage series, followed by a 2022 performance of Andriessen’s De Staat, again led by Adams. This spring, Holly will be featured in Henri Tomasi’s Fanfares Liturgiques and Dylan Mattingly’s opera Stranger Love.
Other stage highlights include Hollywood Bowl features in Danny Elfman Live and various Disney shows, and running across the Bowl stage in a plush tiger suit. Holly played Maria in West Side Story in Helsinki, Jasmine in Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular! at Disney’s California Adventure, Anaïs Nin in Cindy Shapiro’s Anaïs: A Dance Opera in France, Morocco and California, and Consuelo in Long Beach Opera’s production of Adams’s I was looking as the ceiling and then I saw the sky. She has soloed at Carnegie Hall with Christopher Tin, The Soraya with Marco Beltrami, on Poland and Lucerne stages with John Powell, and WDCH with Jeff Beal and the Los Angeles Master Chorale, conducted by Grant Gershon. Holly regularly solos with conductor Anthony Parnther and the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, including performances of Carmina Burana and West Side Story.
In the studio, Holly has sung on over 150 projects. Recent solo highlights include recording an original Richard Sherman lullaby for the upcoming animated short Mushka, providing the many eerie solo vocals for John Powell’s score to Don’t Worry Darling, and providing featured vocals on
Danny Elfman’s 2021 album Big Mess. She can also be heard in Powell’s end title theme to Scrat Tales on Disney+ and in Michael Abels’s opening and end credits in a recent HBO documentary called Fake Famous.
Fun LA fact: Holly played French horn in the the Los Angeles Philharmonic High School Honor Orchestra in 2000, sharing a stand with Bruce Hudson. She holds a BA in music from Dartmouth College.
