Jeremy Davis

Percussion

  • Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen LA Phil Resident Fellow

Member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2025

Jeremy Davis was born and raised in Los Angeles and began his percussion studies at age 11.

His hard work and determination have allowed him to travel the world, performing in some of the most beloved concert halls including Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and The Concertgebouw. Ultimately, Davis’ passion for music is what drives him to continue striving to be the best musician that he can be on a daily basis.

At 17, he won the From the Top Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. He received a scholarship for his live radio performance of Takatsugu Muramatsu’s Land at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. In 2023, he performed Viet Cuong’s Re(new)al with the Pacific Symphony as one of four featured soloists.

In 2019, he won the Principal Percussion Fellowship position in the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles at age 18, becoming the youngest principal fellow of any section in the orchestra. Memorable orchestral performances with this group include Britten’s War Requiem and the Saint-Saëns’ “Organ” Symphony.

In 2019, Davis received his Bachelor of Music in percussion from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music where he studied with Jim Babor and Joseph Pereira, both musicians in the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Davis received his Master of Music in percussion performance from Rice University where he studied with Matthew Strauss, Associate Principal Timpanist/Percussionist in the Houston Symphony. In April 2025, Davis won a three-year Resident Fellowship with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and currently enjoys performing and touring with the orchestra.
