León Gieco is a rock musician, composer and interpreter known for mixing popular Argentinian folkloric genres with rock and roll, and for his lyrics with social and political connotations. His famous song, "Solo le pido a Dios," was one of the most important songs in Mercedes' repertoire and has been interpreted by Pete Seeger, David Byrne, Joan Baez, Sting, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
