Takeshi Kata

Takeshi Kata is a theatrical set designer based in Los Angeles. He has worked on over 150 productions nationally and internationally. In New York, he has worked with The Public Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Second Stage, Vineyard Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Playwrights Horizons, Play Company, Barrow Street Theatre, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Regionally, Takeshi has worked with many companies including, Alley Theatre, American Players Theatre, Berkeley Rep, Dallas Theater Center, Geffen Playhouse, Goodman Theatre, Hartford Stage, Kirk Douglas Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, Nashville Opera, The Old Globe, Skylight Opera Theatre, South Coast Rep, Steppenwolf Theatre Co., Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Yale Repertory Theatre. Takeshi has won an Obie and has been nominated for Drama Desk, Barrymore, and Ovation Awards. He is an Assistant Professor at the USC School of Dramatic Arts.
