    WHAT:

    Conductor Nicholas McGegan returns to the Bowl for a week of Classical Tuesday and Thursday concerts to lead the LA Phil in two performances of an all-Mozart program featuring sibling pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque in Mozart’s famous Concerto for Two Pianos, K. 365, Tuesday and Thursday, July 20 and 22, at 8 p.m. Also on the program are Thamos, King of Egypt (entr’actes), K. 345 and Symphony No. 36 in C, K. 425, “Linz.”


    Nicholas McGegan, one of the world’s leading conductors of baroque and classical repertoire, has been made an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) for services to music overseas in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list published on June 12th 2010. He is a regular visitor to Los Angeles and joins the LA Phil again in December of this year at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

    Katia and Marielle Labèque, boast a repertory from the eclectic to the unexpected, ranging from Bach on period instruments to 21st century contemporary composers. They last appeared at the Hollywood Bowl in July of 1993.
