WHAT:

PBS' Great Performances airs Dudamel Conducts Tango Under the Stars with the LA Phil, a live recording of Los Angeles Philharmonic Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel conducting the LA Phil at the Hollywood Bowl, on Friday, March 31 at 9pm on PBS. (Check local listings.)

Recorded last August, the all-Latin program includes appearances from guitarist Angel Romero, bandoneon player Seth Asarnow, and dancers from Tango Buenos Aires. Newly filmed interviews with Dudamel, Romero, and composer Lalo Schifrin are interspersed throughout the musical program, together with archival footage of Piazzolla.

The program is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray through C Major Entertainment, distributed in the USA by Naxos of America.
