WHAT: The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and public radio station Classical KUSC (91.5 FM) announce a live broadcast of the January 26 performance by Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The broadcast begins at 8:00 PM (PDT) and will be hosted by KUSC's Brian Lauritzen and Alan Chapman. The concert will be broadcast live locally on the radio at KUSC 91.5 FM and as a live webstream at kusc.org. The broadcast will be available online at kusc.org as an on-demand stream for 21 days following the live broadcast.
The program begins with Stravinsky's Fireworks, then Dudamel will lead the orchestra and LA Phil Principal Timpanist Joseph Pereira in the world premiere of Pereira's Threshold for solo timpani, two percussion and orchestra - joined by internationally acclaimed duo Maraca2. The program concludes with Brahms Symphony No. 1
