David Zinman, Music Director of the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, returns to Los Angeles to conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic in three all-Russian programs at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m. The Friday performance, part of the Philharmonic's First Nights series, features Prokofiev's Sinfonia concertante, Op. 125, preceded by a theatrical event, directed by John de Lancie, that recreates the historical and cultural context of the work's composition.

The Saturday and Sunday programs include Liadov's Kikimora, Op. 63, Prokofiev's Sinfonia concertante, Op. 125, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2 in C minor Op. 17, Little Russian. All performances of Prokofiev's Sinfonia concertante, Op. 125, feature cellist Truls Mørk.

Upbeat Live pre-concert events take place one hour prior to each concert in BP Hall at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and are free to all ticket holders.
