John Beasley Presents MONK'estra celebrates the 100th birthday of legendary pianist Thelonious Monk, followed by an homage to pianist Erroll Garner’s landmark album, Concert by the Sea, presented by Geri Allen. This series also includes a swinging, soulful program by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra & Chick Corea, and the series closes out with an inspired concert by Crosscurrents: Zakir Hussain, Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Shankar Mahadevan and more that bridges jazz and the music of India.
