To start this series, Gustavo Dudamel leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic with pianist Javier Perianes in an evening of Mozart’s extraordinary music. Also featured in this multifaceted series are a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 by Sergio Tiempo, the world premiere of an original composition by LA Phil Principal Timpanist Joseph Pereira, an update to Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Wing on Wing, and the rarely performed Das Paradies und die Peri by Schumann conducted by Dudamel and directed by Peter Sellars.
