About this Piece
I wrote the opera p r i s m in 2019 with librettist Roxie Perkins. p r i s m explores the dissolving relationship between a mother and daughter as they face the psychological consequences of surviving sexual assault. “Lumee’s Dream” is an aria from the second act, where Lumee, the mother’s true identity is gradually revealed as she shares her selfish fantasy.
