Music is not invisible. Nor does it lack texture, flavor, or scent. When we encounter music, we encounter it with our entire bodies, all five senses working together as we react to what’s in front of us. Body & Sound is an exploration of the odd ways music shapes and is shaped by forces you wouldn’t expect. How does the smell of an alluring incense change the way we hear a piece of music? Do familiar works sound different when performed in the dark? How well might a Michelin-approved meal pair with a consensus masterpiece? These are all questions we’re asking this spring, with a series of multisensory concerts and events like no other. Join us, and get a taste—or a glimpse—of what’s possible.
