Nicole Miller
Both a live event and laser light installation, Transition brings artist Nicole Miller together with musicians Lady Jess and Kyshona Armstrong to explore the synthesis of color, shape, and language. The trio aims to transform the representational into a powerful and affecting abstraction. Inspired both by Wassily Kandinsky’s artist book Sounds and her connections with the African American spiritual tradition, Miller's work seeks to bring to life the ecstatic aesthetic of the Weimar period through contemporary eyes. Remaining after the performance, the laser projection continues to animate the space in abstract shapes and colors.
This performance is free and open to all February 8 concert ticket holders.
