About this Artist
KARINA SABAC was born in Bucharest in 1978. At the age of 20 she simultaneously completed her high school education in Romania and a five-year university degree in Berlin. She has worked with many distinguished pianists and professors, such as Klaus Hellwig, Gyorgy Sebok, and Leon Fleisher, and John Perry. She received a master's degree in Piano Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music in 2001, and in 2005 she will complete the school's Graduate Certificate Program.
Sabac has won prizes in piano competitions throughout Europe and the U.S. and has been recorded and broadcast on public radio in Germany, Spain, the U.S., and Romania. She has performed in the concert halls of Berlin, Bucharest, Munich, and Amsterdam and has appeared with the Orchestra of St. John's at the Thaxted Festival (UK), Das Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, the Iassy Philharmonic, and Romanian National Radio Orchestra.
In December 2004 Sabac will make her debut with the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra of Bucharest and perform in a solo recital broadcast live from the National Radio Society "Jora" Concert Hall. Her performance engagements for the 2005/2006 season include a concert tour in Belgium.
