Elijah Alexander

About this Artist

Elijah Alexander is an 18-year-old senior attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Elijah became interested in music at age 10, first taking up the trombone, then becoming interested in composition at age 13. He currently studies trombone with Shelly Summinski and Matt Corrigan. Elijah plays trombone in LACHSA jazz combos, as well as the Colburn School Monday Night Jazz Band. He has attended the Stanford Jazz Institute, the Quincy Jones Jazz Camp, as well as the Berklee Five-Week Performance Intensive. Outside of music, Elijah is interested in politics and world history. Elijah Alexander has been a fellow in the LA Phil Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program since 2019.
