Tyree Boyd-Pates is a Los Angeles-based museum curator, historian, author, and social entrepreneur dedicated to preserving and amplifying African American art, history, and culture. As the founder and CEO of NOMMO Cultural Strategies, he consults, curates, and develops cultural projects and public programming that engage communities of color while reimagining how Black history is presented and experienced.
With 13 critically acclaimed museum exhibitions, Boyd-Pates’ curatorial work has deepened public understanding of American history and broadened museum engagement. Through NOMMO, his company assists cultural institutions and major brands in authentically integrate Black history into their practices, promoting equity, representation, and historical integrity. His work has been highlighted in Time Magazine, The New York Times, LA Times, Vogue, and NPR, cementing his prominent voice in public history and cultural strategy.
