About this Artist
Stellaluna Lopez-Ramirez is a 2020/2021 fellow in the LA Phil Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program. She started her musical journey with YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) at age nine, where she learned the violin. Through YOLA, she performed with the organization’s 10th anniversary tour orchestra and the National Take a Stand Festival Orchestra’s 2017 and 2018 ensembles. She has also begun to conduct, having led the Torres Children’s Orchestra in 2019. She is currently a junior at Felicitas and Gonzalo High School in Boyle Heights. When she is not composing, she enjoys playing basketball.
