About this Artist

Born in Durango, Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, Lily Martinez is a celebrated designer known for her vibrant and culturally rich Catrina costumes. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Downtown Los Angeles, Martinez joined Mattel, where she became the first Latina creative director for Barbie, creating and designing iconic doll lines including My Scene and Monster High. She has won numerous awards, including the Elliot Handler Award for Excellence in Design, and has appeared as a guest judge on Project Runway.
