About this Piece
One of the great joys as a composer is collaborating with brilliant performers. To that end, I’m so honored to write for Pekka Kuusisto, one of the most creative, unique and captivating violinists of our time. Desiderium is inspired by family: the warmth of the highs, the anguish of the lows, the whole world. This piece is dedicated to Jaakko Kuusisto.
